Can I bring additional guests?

We adhere to USCG regulations and offer two different options for booking:

  • Up to 6 Guests (6-pack): If you booked a package for up to 6 guests, the total number of guests cannot exceed 6 people.
  • Up to 12 Guests (bareboat): If you booked a package for up to 12 guests, the total number of guests allowed is 12 plus the captain (and crew if applicable).

If you need to update the number of guests in your party, this may impact your agreement and pricing. Please contact us directly at (855) 735-BOAT (2628). Updates require advance notice to accommodate.

How do I choose a captain for my charter?

For 6-pack charters (up to 6 guests), our team will assign a captain to the charter and connect you in advance of the trip. The captain fee is included in the price of the charter, but the tip is not included. Please plan to tip your captain 20% of the charter fee.

For bareboat charters (up to 12 guests), USCG regulations require you to choose the captain for your charter.

  • Pre-Approved Captains: You will receive a list of pre-approved captains. These captains are all USCG credentialed captains with specialized knowledge of Tampa Bay area waters. The list of captains includes first responders who are highly trained and experienced in water rescue. We connect our guests with these captains on a case by case basis to confirm their availability and make an introduction.
  • Providing Your Own Captain: Alternatively, you have the option to provide or hire your own captain. This captain must meet stringent qualifications, and we may request proof of their qualifications.
How do I pay the captain?

For 6-pack charters (up to 6 guests), the captain fee is included in the price of the charter, but the tip is not included. Please plan to tip your captain 20% of the charter fee.*

For bareboat charters (up to 12 guests), according to USCG regulations, payment for the captain fees and the charter company must be handled separately. On the day of the charter, you will need to make the payment directly to the captain on the dock before the charter begins. Payment can be made using various methods, including cash, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, etc. Typically captain’s are paid $70 per hour plus tip. Please plan to tip your captain 20% of the charter fee.**

Is fuel included in the charter fee?

No, fuel is not included in charter fees, as every trip is customizable and costs will vary from one trip to another. Fuel should be returned to the same level as it was at the start of the trip. Failure to do so will result in a fuel reimbursement, as outlined below.

Reimbursement Process: Within 1-3 days following your trip, fuel expenses are paid through various methods such as CashApp, Venmo, or your security deposit. Alternatively, we may process the reimbursement through our booking platform or a partner site, typically charged to the card on file.

Fuel Usage Calculation: Our specialized onboard software precisely measures the fuel consumed by each engine during the trip. This system has undergone thorough testing and provides an accuracy level of within 5 gallons on any journey.

Applicable Fuel Coverage: The calculation for fuel reimbursement encompasses the entire trip and any travel to/from the home port (mooring location) to the pick-up location.

Fuel Reimbursement Formula: Fuel gallons used + 3-5 gallons (3-5 gallons are included to account for typical inaccuracies, travel to/from the fuel dock, unknown fuel price fluctuations, etc.) multiplied by the local market non-ethanol marine grade fuel rate, with an additional 3.5% credit card processing fee.
